Alexa Meade creates photographs that imitate paintings. By painting directly over her physical subjects with acrylic paint, they appear to be flat 2d paintings. It’s amazing what creative people can achieve, I can’t even begin to imagine how much work goes into each photo! You can read more about it on Alexa’s website.
Another artist that I find inspiring is Yulia Brodskaya. Originally from Russia, Yulia trained as a Graphic Designer in the UK, and then began to focus on creating paper artwork or “quilling”. Yulia’s work is beautiful, the time and effort that goes into each piece is evident. To find out more about Yulia and her art, here’s an interview from GALO Magazine.
Totally unrelated- I saw this video today and it made me laugh. I’ve discussed photo retouching in the past (How Much is Too Much? & Photoshop Your Memories), but how cool would it be if we can retouch ourselves in real-life?
