The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics

| January 23, 2011

I love this cartoon! The artwork + storyline is clever and witty. It is based on a book by Norton Juster, and in 1965 Chuck Jones and MGM turned it into a animated-short.

The dot comes across as rather shallow, and I almost wish that the line would ditch her at the end for someone (or some line) more deserving. If the line hadn’t tried so hard to impress the dot, she never would have seen how coarse and immature the squiggle was.

the moral at the end is cute: To the vector belong the spoils
